Ceasefire and cessation of hostilities in Middle East urgent: FM spokesperson while answering a question related to Israeli airstrikes.
A recent series of events in the Middle East highlights the urgent need for a ceasefire and an end to hostilities, stated a spokesperson from China’s Foreign Ministry on Monday.
Spokesperson Lin Jian made this statement in response to questions about Israel’s airstrikes on various Iranian military sites on October 26.
Lin reiterated China’s stance against violations of other nations’ sovereignty and security, as well as against the arbitrary use of force.
He noted that the Middle East remains highly tense, urging all involved parties to avoid actions that could further increase security risks in the region.
Lin emphasized that the international community, especially influential nations, should actively contribute to de-escalation efforts and help create the necessary conditions to reduce regional tensions.
