The 477-kilometer pipeline will connect key locations like Machike, Thalian, and Taru Jabba, aiming to improve the nation’s oil distribution system. Led by Pakistan State Oil (PSO), PARCO, and the Inter-State Gas System, and constructed by Frontier Works Organisation, the project will run alongside the motorway, linking Attock Refinery with sites such as Chak Pirana and Faqirabad for smoother oil transport.
The pipeline is expected to reduce transportation costs, saving the national treasury billions of rupees, while enhancing fuel supply, minimizing adulteration risks, and increasing safety. Its initial capacity of 7 million tonnes annually may expand to 10 million tonnes.
By decreasing reliance on road transport and improving environmental sustainability, the project highlights the government and SIFC’s commitment to strengthening Pakistan’s petroleum sector, ensuring a reliable and cost-effective fuel supply
