Islamabad – 12th September 2024: Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival Celebrations Starts in Pakistan representing cultural collaboration between two countries.
The China Cultural Center in Pakistan, in collaboration with the Culture Office of the Chinese embassy, launched a series of online activities titled “A Moon Moment to Remember” to celebrate the 2024 Mid-Autumn Festival, both in Pakistan and globally.
The celebration includes a video series called “Mid-Autumn Day in Poetry” along with other vibrant events, organized by the China Cultural Center in Pakistan as part of this year’s festival.
The Mid-Autumn Festival is one of the most important holidays in China, where families gather under the full moon and light lanterns to symbolize the path to future success. The festival occurs on the fifth day of the eighth lunar month, with this year’s celebration starting on 17th September.
In Chinese tradition, the festival signifies reunion. Key customs include feasting at round tables and admiring the full moon, as the round shape represents unity and completeness.
The festival activities, including themed videos and performances, will be showcased on platforms like the Twitter of H.E. Zhang Heqing, Cultural Counsellor and Director of the China Cultural Center in Pakistan, as well as the Center’s official WeChat and Facebook channels.
