Pakistan and China have agreed to explore further avenues for boosting trade and will hold a meeting of the Committee on Trade in Goods under the Free Trade Agreement. Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan met with Ling Ji, China’s Vice Minister of Commerce, during the SCO Ministerial Conference, with senior officials from both countries’ commerce ministries in attendance.
The Chinese vice minister congratulated Pakistan on hosting the first-ever ministerial meeting for SCO Ministers Responsible for Economy & Foreign Trade, assuring China’s full support. Both sides acknowledged the significant potential for growth in the agriculture sector, with China expressing a strong interest in importing high-quality agricultural products from Pakistan. China also invited Pakistan to participate in the upcoming China International Import Exhibition in Shanghai, highlighting a large reserved space for Pakistan.
