August 27 – Pakistan’s President Zardari awards Nishan-i-Imtiaz (Military) to Chinese General Li Qiaoming on his official visit to Pakistan.
On Tuesday, President Asif Ali Zardari awarded the Nishan-i-Imtiaz (Military) to General Li Qiaoming, Commander of China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Ground Forces, in recognition of his outstanding services and significant role in strengthening Sino-Pak defense relations.
The award was presented during a special investiture ceremony at Aiwan-e-Sadr, which was attended by service chiefs and parliamentarians.
The ceremony’s citation emphasized General Li Qiaoming’s four-decade military career, highlighting his significant contributions to the Chinese military. His intellect, administrative abilities, and dedication have established him as a courageous and capable officer, instrumental in promoting peace and stability in China and beyond.
Known for his exceptional professionalism, General Li has been pivotal in maintaining stability around China. As a close friend of Pakistan, he has played a crucial role in bolstering Pak-China military ties with unwavering dedication. In recognition of these contributions, the president awarded him the Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military).
