On August 9, 2024, Director-General of the Department of International Organizations and Conferences of the Foreign Ministry Shen Bo and Additional Secretary of the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs Syed Ahsan Raza Shah co-chaired China-Pakistan consultations on the affairs of United Nations (UN) and Security Council in Islamabad. Pakistani Foreign Secretary Muhammad Syrus Sajjad Qazi met with Shen Bo and his entourage. The two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on the situation of the UN and its Security Council, the UN Summit of the Future, as well as international and regional hotspot issues of mutual interest and concern. The two sides reached extensive consensus and agreed to further strengthen coordination and cooperation and jointly play a constructive role in maintaining international peace and security.
