China has consistently maintained a positive and open stance on strengthening exchanges and cooperation with the United Kingdom, according to Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Mao Ning on Wednesday.
Mao made this statement in response to inquiries about whether British Foreign Secretary David Lammy was contemplating a visit to China. She also highlighted that Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi had recently met with Lammy in Vientiane, Laos.
As both permanent members of the UN Security Council and significant global economies, China and the U.K. benefit from stable and mutually advantageous relations, Mao said. These relations support the fundamental interests of both nations, enhance their ability to tackle global challenges, and contribute to global peace and development.
China looks forward to advancing bilateral ties with the U.K. through mutual respect and win-win cooperation, aiming to deliver greater benefits for both countries and the international community, the spokesperson added.
