He made these remarks during a meeting with a seven-member delegation of journalists who had recently visited China on the invitation of the China Public Diplomacy Association, held in Lahore today.
The Prime Minister mentioned that he is personally overseeing the progress of the Memorandums of Understanding and agreements signed with China. Shahbaz Sharif mentioned his recent visit to Beijing.
He noted significant advancements in bilateral cooperation in various fields after a recent visit by Chinese experts to Pakistan. He also emphasized that all necessary measures are being taken to ensure the security of Chinese citizens in Pakistan.
Shehbaz Sharif stressed that there should be no politics regarding the longstanding relationship with a friendly country like China.
The Prime Minister highlighted China’s consistent support for Pakistan in difficult times. He urged all stakeholders to collaborate on development projects of national importance like the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, setting aside party politics.
Shehbaz Sharif reiterated his personal commitment to dedicating all his energy to Pakistan’s development whenever given the opportunity to serve the country.
He also expressed gratitude to the Chinese leadership and people for their warm hospitality.
The delegation, which included Salman Ghani and Amir Mir of Duniya News, Sheraz Hassan of Hum News, Khizar Hayat of the Jang, Khalid Hassnain of Dawn News, Azam Malik of Geo News, and Matiur Rehman of Pakistan Television, shared their experiences and views on Pakistan-China relations during the visit.
They praised the pro-business and investment policies of the government under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership.
The delegation noted that the Chinese side expressed complete satisfaction with government measures concerning China’s investment. They were particularly satisfied with the pace of work on CPEC and project completions. They mentioned that Chinese officials frequently referenced the “Shehbaz Speed” and commended the Prime Minister’s reform initiatives.
Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar was also present at the meeting.
