Acting Minister of Interior Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani recently met with Chinese Ambassador Zhao Sheng in Kabul, according to the Ministry of Interior.
During the meeting, Ambassador Zhao thanked the Ministry of Interior for its efforts to secure Chinese projects, diplomats, and residents in Afghanistan and expressed satisfaction with the ongoing cooperation. He highlighted recent advancements in commercial and economic relations between the two nations, including the opening of the Miss Aynak mine road and agreements on various projects like pine trees.
Mr. Zhao also mentioned continued support for Afghan refugees returning to their homeland. In response, Mr. Haqqani expressed gratitude for China’s assistance to returning Afghans and welcomed the progress in commercial and economic projects. He stressed that improving security for such initiatives is a top priority for the Ministry of Interior and assured continued cooperation in this regard.
The meeting emphasized the significance of regional stability, security, technical cooperation, and the further development of bilateral relations.
