BEIJING, July 25 – China and Russia hold joint aerial patrol over Bering Sea to improve coordination between two air forces.
The Chinese and Russian militaries carried out a joint strategic aerial patrol over the Bering Sea on Thursday as part of their annual cooperation plan, according to a Chinese defense spokesperson at a press conference.
Zhang Xiaogang, a spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defense, stated that this was the eighth strategic aerial patrol undertaken by the two militaries since 2019.
Zhang mentioned that the operation aimed to test and improve coordination between the two air forces, while also deepening strategic mutual trust and practical cooperation between China and Russia.
Emphasizing that the operation did not target any third party, Zhang said it complied with relevant international laws and practices and was not connected to any current international or regional situation.
