China and Guinea-Bissau have recently engaged in high-level talks aimed at bolstering their
strategic partnership. These discussions, focusing on various aspects of cooperation including
economic, political, and cultural exchanges, mark a significant step in strengthening bilateral
relations between these two nations.
According to President Xi, China supports Guinea-Bissau in independently pursuing a
development path that fits its unique national circumstances. China and Guinea-Bissau have
strengthened their bilateral relations, expanded pragmatic cooperation, and improved
international coordination.
He further added that China is prepared to assist Guinea-Bissau in carrying on the country’s
long-standing friendship, strengthening political mutual trust, fostering more practical
cooperation, consistently enhancing the meaning of the two nations’ strategic partnership, and
assisting Guinea-Bissau in achieving better national development.
According to the President of Guinea-Bissau Embalo, China has never practised colonialism,
meddled in other nations’ internal affairs, or finger-pointing; instead, China has consistently
matched its words with deeds, treating small nations with equality and respect.
Guinea-Bissau and China, according to Embalo, have a strong and friendly relationship
characterised by unwavering support for one another. He also mentioned that whenever
Guinea-Bissau has faced challenges, China has always given invaluable assistance without
hesitation—a gesture that the people of Guinea-Bissau will always remember.

Under the guidance of the high-quality construction of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI),
China stands ready to strengthen friendly exchanges with Guinea-Bissau at all levels, enhance
experience-sharing on governance, and expand cooperation in areas such as agriculture,
mining, infrastructure construction, and the blue economy.
China welcomes high-quality agricultural products from Guinea-Bissau and encourages
Chinese enterprises to invest and cooperate in the country. China supports Guinea-Bissau’s
domestic construction, rice experts, and public health. Xi calls for strengthening exchanges and
cooperation in education, youth, and other fields to bring the two peoples closer.
President Embalo stated that Guinea-Bissau is willing to work closely with China on
multilateral issues and supports the BRI, the Global Development Initiative, the Global
Security Initiative, and the Global Civilization Initiative put forth by President Xi. Together,
these initiatives will help to create a community with a shared future for all people.
Following the discussions, the two heads of state saw the signing of numerous bilateral
agreements for cooperation in the areas of economic development, geology, mining, customs
inspection and quarantine, economic development, and the Global Development Initiative.
A joint statement on the formation of the strategic partnership was also released by the two
parties.
