China has recently released a comprehensive document titled “Vision and Actions for High-Quality Belt and Road Cooperation: Brighter Prospects for the Next Decade.” Crafted by the Office of the Leading Group for Promoting the Belt and Road Initiative, the document outlines strategic paths and measures that China will pursue to advance Belt and Road cooperation over the coming decade.
The plan underscores China’s commitment to collaborate with Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) partner countries, focusing on building signature projects and aligning development strategies and market demands. The document emphasizes the continuation of impactful flagship projects, the development of initiatives like Juncao, and the promotion of international vocational education through programs such as Luban Workshops.
Utilizing foreign aid funds, China aims to make substantial progress in poverty reduction, alleviation, and ensuring food security in BRI participating countries, according to the document. Additionally, China plans to strengthen BRI cooperation platforms and host the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in the years to come.
The document outlines five specific objectives for the next decade, including establishing a more efficient connectivity network, deepening comprehensive and practical cooperation, enhancing the well-being of the people in participating countries, supporting China’s open economy at a more advanced stage, and promoting the vision of a global community of shared future.
