 4-day CPEC Punjab Media Delegation Initiative kicks off

LAHORE, Aug.2 – The first-ever 4-day “CPEC Punjab Media Delegation Initiative” has kicked off on August 01, in connection with the ongoing series of CPEC 10-year celebrations in Pakistan. The activity, which will last till August 04, is being organized in collaboration with the Chinese Consulate Lahore and the Institute of International Relations and Media Research (IIRMR).

The delegation will visit various CPEC project sites, including the Lahore Orange Metro Train, Sahiwal Coal-Fired Power Plant, Faisalabad M3 Industrial Park, and Matari-Lahore Transmission Line. Additionally, the delegation will also visit the Challenge factory run by a Chinese enterprise.

In an interview with Gwadar Pro, Chinese Consul General Lahore, Zhao Shiren, emphasized that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is a shining example and an exemplary hallmark of the deepening friendship and partnership between China and Pakistan. He described CPEC as a key component and signature project of the Belt and Road Initiative launched by China in 2013, showcasing China’s unwavering commitment to and unflinching support for Pakistan’s development.

Zhao Shiren stated, “This year marks the ten-year development of the CPEC. Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng, in the capacity of the special representative of President Xi Jinping, pays his official visit to Pakistan for the CPEC anniversary celebrations, which provides a new opportunity for both sides to further implement the important consensus reached between the leaders of the two countries and to continue to build on past achievements and upgrade the development of the CPEC.”

Chairman Muhammad Mehdi and President Yasir Habib Khan of the Institute of International Relations and Media Research (IIRMR) jointly expressed that the “CPEC 10-year Punjab Media Delegation” aims to educate people about the game-changing impacts of CPEC projects that have upgraded development dynamics in Punjab. They emphasized how energy and transport infrastructure have made public life easier for everyone.

The delegation also seeks to inform the public about market and business dynamics and how China-driven investments have enthused growth and development in the province of Punjab, which is home to more than 100 million people.
They further added that being a part of the swirl of CPEC’s 10-year celebrations, underpinned by the visit of Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng, the “CPEC Punjab 10-year Media Delegation” will showcase the depth of friendship between China and Pakistan, which goes beyond time and space.
