2024 Beijing Culture Forum kicks off encouraging cultural exchanges with other countries.
Hundreds of notable guests from China and abroad have convened in Beijing for the 2024 Beijing Culture Forum, themed “Enhance Culture Exchanges for Common Progress.”
The event features a main forum, six sub-forums, and numerous specialized seminars, addressing topics such as cross-civilization learning, spiritual enrichment, industrial development, and the preservation of intangible cultural heritage. Alongside, cultural events like performances at the Beijing Performing Arts Center, investor conferences on the cultural industry, and dialogues between Chinese and international youth are taking place. A book fair, “Temple of Earth and Me,” has also been launched in Beijing’s Ditan Park as part of the forum.
Initially held in 2022, the Beijing Culture Forum seeks to boost the global influence of Chinese culture while advancing China’s Global Civilizations Initiative and encouraging cultural exchanges and mutual learning with other nations.
Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter to 2023 Culture Forum, “China will strengthen cultural relations with the rest of the world, jointly promote cultural prosperity, heritage protection and mutual learning between civilizations, and implement the Global Civilization Initiative. This will inject a profound and enduring cultural force into the building of a global community of shared future.”
The forum is set to conclude on September 21.
