Xi visits flood affected residents in northeast China ahead of the Spring Festival celebrations.
Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, visited a flood-affected village in Liaoning Province on Wednesday, despite the cold weather.
His visit to Zhujiagou Village, located in Suizhong County under Huludao City’s administration, came ahead of the Spring Festival, which is celebrated as the most significant festival in China and falls on January 29 this year.
Huludao was among the areas most severely impacted by the summer floods of 2024.
During the visit, Xi reviewed the progress of post-disaster restoration and reconstruction efforts.
While meeting villagers who had recently moved into new homes for the winter, Xi inquired about the quality of the reconstructed houses and whether their living conditions were satisfactory.
