Xi sends congratulatory letter to Western China International Fair stressing on the event’s role in high-level openness.
On Sunday, Chinese President Xi Jinping extended his congratulations to the 20th Western China International Fair, which commenced in Chengdu, Sichuan Province.
President Xi highlighted that this year’s fair emphasizes promoting high-level openness, enhancing regional collaboration, and advancing the development of a modern industrial system.
He remarked that the fair contributes to building a new development model and supports the high-quality implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative. It also serves as a key platform for global partners to explore growth opportunities in western China.
Xi stressed the importance of unity and cooperation for mutual success and progress. He added that China seeks to use the fair to deepen understanding, strengthen ties, and enhance collaboration with nations worldwide.
He affirmed China’s commitment to supporting the multilateral trading system and working with international partners to maintain stable global industrial and supply chains, thereby contributing to global economic growth.
The fair opened on Sunday in Chengdu, themed “Deepen Reform for More Momentum, Expand Openness for Greater Growth,” and was organized by the Sichuan provincial government.
