President Xi sends congratulatory letter to CYP national congress and stressed to follow the leadership of the Party.
Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter to the ninth national congress of the Chinese Young Pioneers (CYP), a national children’s organization, as the event commenced in Beijing on Tuesday.
In his letter, Xi, the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, emphasized that the CYP should follow the leadership of the Party and nurture future contributors to socialism with Chinese characteristics.
With International Children’s Day approaching, Xi extended warm wishes to children across China, highlighting their vital role in building a strong and revitalized nation.
He encouraged the CYP to guide its members into becoming ideal youth of the new era—patriotic, studious, and well-rounded individuals.
Xi also called for the creation of a supportive environment to promote children’s healthy development.
Cai Qi, a member of the CPC Central Committee’s Political Bureau Standing Committee and its Secretariat, was present at the opening ceremony.
Shi Taifeng, also a member of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau and head of its Organization Department, read Xi’s letter and delivered a speech on behalf of the CPC. He urged CYP members to uphold Xi’s guidance and actively contribute to national progress.
Roughly 3,000 delegates participated in the congress.
