Xi meets foreign guests attending China International Friendship Conference emphasizing that people to people relations are key for stable international relations.
Chinese President Xi Jinping met with foreign guests attending the China International Friendship Conference and the 70th anniversary of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries on Friday.
Xi took a group photo with the attendees and praised the long-standing efforts of international friends in fostering friendship with China.
He emphasized that people-to-people relations are the foundation for stable and lasting international ties, and a key force in promoting global peace and development. Over the 75 years since the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the Communist Party of China has led the nation to modernization, which has benefited not only China but also the world.
Reflecting on the progress made, Xi further highlighted that China’s achievements were not possible without the support of international friends. Many foreign individuals, enterprises, and institutions have contributed to China’s development and helped strengthen cooperation and exchanges between China and other countries.
“We will always remember your significant contributions and the genuine friendship formed with the Chinese people,” Xi added.
Additionally, amid global changes, Xi noted that humanity is at a historical crossroads, and building a community with a shared future is the right path forward. He also expressed China’s willingness to deepen friendly exchanges and leverage people-to-people diplomacy to achieve this vision.
