Chinese President Xi Jinping concluded his state visit to Russia on Saturday, during which he also participated in the 80th anniversary commemorations of the Soviet Union’s victory in the Great Patriotic War.
At the airport, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko and other high-ranking officials bid farewell to Xi during a formal send-off ceremony. A military band performed the national anthems of both China and Russia, and Xi reviewed the honor guard.
After takeoff, Xi’s aircraft was accompanied by Russian Air Force fighter jets as a gesture of respect.
As Xi traveled to the airport, crowds of local citizens, Chinese company representatives, and overseas Chinese students lined the route, waving Chinese and Russian flags to express their congratulations on the success of his visit.
