On the afternoon of July 4, President Xi Jinping attended the 23rd Meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization via video link from Beijing and gave an important statement.
President Xi said that all nations in the region aspire to see harmonious development of different civilizations. All sides are welcome to join efforts to implement the Global Civilization Initiative, promote inclusiveness and coexistence among all civilizations, and increase mutual understanding and friendship among all nations.
