Chinese President Xi Jinping departed from Beijing on Monday to attend the second China-Central Asia Summit, which is being held in Astana. The visit comes at the invitation of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the President of Kazakhstan.
Accompanying President Xi are senior Chinese officials, including Cai Qi, who serves as a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and director of its General Office, as well as Foreign Minister Wang Yi, also a member of the CPC Central Committee’s Political Bureau.
