Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, visited Shenyang, the capital of northeast China’s Liaoning Province, on Thursday.
The visit took place just before the Spring Festival, China’s most significant holiday, which falls on January 29 this year.
During his trip, Xi toured a food market and a residential community in Shenyang. He reviewed the supply of goods for the holiday season, examined measures taken to meet residents’ daily needs, and observed efforts to improve public services and enhance people’s quality of life.
For over a decade, Xi, as the country’s top leader, has upheld the tradition of connecting with ordinary citizens in the days leading up to the Spring Festival.
