Xi Jinping calls for further advancing Peaceful China Initiative while emphasizing the importance of sustained efforts in this regard.

Chinese President Xi Jinping, who also serves as the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, has emphasized the need to elevate the Peaceful China Initiative to new heights.

Presiding over a group study session of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee on Friday, Xi reiterated the importance of making the country more secure, ensuring greater social order, enhancing governance efficiency, and improving public satisfaction.

Xi highlighted that, since the 18th CPC National Congress in 2012, continuous efforts by the CPC Central Committee to strengthen leadership and security mechanisms have enabled China to achieve both rapid economic growth and long-term social stability.

He stressed that, given evolving circumstances and emerging challenges, the Peaceful China Initiative must be further reinforced rather than weakened. Xi emphasized the need to adhere to a comprehensive national security strategy to advance this initiative.

He urged party committees and government bodies at all levels to address security concerns effectively and in a timely manner, ensuring long-term stability in the country. The initiative, he noted, is designed for the people and must be supported by the people. He called for measures to safeguard citizens’ legitimate rights, uphold social justice, and ensure fairness.

Preventing and mitigating risks is central to the initiative, Xi stated, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing national political security. He advocated for strengthening security measures in disaster management, cyberspace, artificial intelligence, and other critical areas to address potential risks.

Additionally, Xi underscored the need for improved crime prevention strategies and a law-based approach to resolving public grievances. He also reaffirmed the absolute leadership of the CPC Central Committee over national security, judicial, and law enforcement institutions while urging the adoption of modern technologies to enhance governance.

During the session, Li Yan, vice president and professor at Southwest University of Political Science and Law, shared insights and recommendations on advancing the Peaceful China Initiative.
