Xi holds talks with Brunei’s Sultan in Beijing on Thursday.
Chinese President Xi Jinping met with the Sultan of Brunei, Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, in Beijing on Thursday, emphasizing the need to strengthen strategic coordination and deepen mutually beneficial cooperation between the two nations.
Xi highlighted that since establishing diplomatic relations over 30 years ago, China and Brunei have continuously reinforced political trust, aligned their development agendas, and achieved significant progress across various sectors through practical cooperation.
He further noted that both countries have maintained effective coordination in international and regional matters, serving as a model of equality and mutual benefit between nations of different sizes while contributing positively to regional peace, stability, and economic growth.
Xi emphasized that the vision of building a China-Brunei community with a shared future aligns with current global trends, safeguards the core interests of both nations, and marks a new milestone in their bilateral relationship.
He urged both sides to enhance strategic collaboration, uphold mutual respect and trust, and remain committed as good neighbors, reliable friends, and strong partners in shared development.
