Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed his condolences to Myanmar’s leader, Min Aung Hlaing, on Saturday following the devastating earthquake that struck the country a day earlier.
In his message, Xi conveyed his deep shock upon learning about the powerful earthquake, which resulted in significant loss of life and property damage.
Speaking on behalf of the Chinese government and people, Xi offered his heartfelt sympathies to the victims, their families, and those affected by the disaster.
Xi emphasized that China and Myanmar share a close bond, standing together in times of hardship, and highlighted the deep-rooted fraternal friendship between the two nations.
He affirmed China’s willingness to extend assistance and support Myanmar in its recovery efforts, aiming for a swift restoration of normalcy.
Additionally, Chinese Premier Li Qiang also conveyed his condolences to Min Aung Hlaing on Saturday, expressing solidarity with Myanmar during this challenging time.
