Chinese President Xi Jinping departed for Beijing on Wednesday after participating in the second China-Central Asia Summit held in Astana.
Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, along with other high-ranking officials, personally came to the airport to bid farewell to President Xi.
Following the takeoff, fighter jets from the Kazakh Air Force escorted Xi’s aircraft in a formal gesture of respect.
Along the route to the airport, Chinese business representatives and students studying abroad gathered along the streets, enthusiastically waving the national flags of China and Kazakhstan to celebrate Xi’s successful engagement at the summit.
