Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Kazakhstan on Monday to participate in the second China-Central Asia Summit.
At the airport, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan, along with other high-ranking officials, extended a warm welcome to Xi.
As Xi’s aircraft entered Kazakhstan’s airspace, Kazakh air defense fighter jets were dispatched to escort the presidential plane.
Kazakh youth and children greeted Xi enthusiastically, waving Chinese and Kazakh national flags in a show of friendship.
With President Tokayev by his side, Xi reviewed a ceremonial guard of honor, while helicopters carrying the flags of both nations flew overhead. Inside the VIP lounge, they watched cultural performances by Kazakh children.
