BEIJING, Aug 19 – The Urdu edition of the book “Rose Stories Along Belt and Road”, which chronicles the success stories of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) across Asia, Africa, and Latin America, was unveiled in Beijing on Friday.
Speaking at the launch, the Pakistani ambassador to China, Moin ul Haque, highlighted that the book’s 60-plus stories underscore China’s pivotal role in global development. He described the book as a vivid representation of China’s vision of building a society with a shared destiny for mankind.
The ambassador noted that the book’s release is timely, coinciding with the 10th anniversary of both BRI and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). He emphasized that CPEC has profoundly transformed Pakistan’s economic landscape, playing a crucial role in infrastructure development, addressing energy needs, and creating employment opportunities.
Luo Zhaohui, Chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency, remarked that the book would enhance global understanding of China’s development philosophy in the context of BRI. He pointed out that as BRI celebrates its tenth anniversary, over 180 countries and regions have endorsed the initiative, with 3,000 projects reaching completion worldwide.
Luo further highlighted that CPEC stands as the flagship project of the Belt and Road Initiative, significantly bolstering economic collaboration between China and Pakistan. He also emphasized that the Global Development Initiative, introduced by Chinese President Xi Jinping, aligns closely with the United Nations’ 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. This alignment has garnered the initiative substantial global acclaim.
The book’s publisher, Ali Khar, along with other attendees, spoke at the event, lauding the accomplishments achieved under the Belt and Road Initiative globally, including in Pakistan.
The ceremony saw participation from Pakistan’s ambassador to China, Moin ul Haque, senior officials from the China International Development Cooperation Agency, and journalists from various countries.
