Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated on Friday that Türkiye and China, having strengthened their ties in 2024, are poised for further collaboration in the upcoming year.
During a press briefing in Istanbul, Fidan told local and international media that the two nations have accelerated bilateral cooperation significantly through high-level visits and meetings in the past year, which has not only strengthened their relationship but also created new opportunities for mutual growth.
Fidan mentioned his visits to Beijing and the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in China, where he addressed key issues, particularly those related to trade, between the two countries.
The minister also highlighted the China-Türkiye Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee, which had its second meeting in Beijing last November, marking a notable advancement in the bilateral partnership.
Additionally, Fidan pointed out the potential synergies between Türkiye’s Middle Corridor Project and China’s Belt and Road Initiative, suggesting that this collaboration could become a central aspect of strengthening the two countries’ cooperation.
