The 5th China Liaoning International Investment and Trade Fair opened in Shenyang, China.
On September 26, the 5th China Liaoning International Investment and Trade Fair, themed “Developing New Productivity, Opening up and Cooperation to Promote Revitalization,” was inaugurated in Shenyang. Gao Yunlong, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and Chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, delivered the opening speech, while Hao Peng, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Congress Standing Committee, and Zhao Long, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Governor of Fujian Province, also spoke. Li Lecheng, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Governor, presented a keynote address. Additionally, Park Byeong-seok, former Speaker of the National Assembly of South Korea, was present, along with Zhou Bo, Chairman of the Provincial CPPCC, and Wang Xinwei, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Shenyang Municipal Party Committee.

Gao Yunlong congratulated the conference, stating that the Liaoning International Fair serves as an important platform for promoting the opening up of Northeast China. He emphasized the significance of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee in signaling a commitment to expanding high-level openness. Further, he outlined plans for creating a more inclusive development environment, strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation, and enhancing innovation-driven development. He expressed hope that participants would seize the opportunity presented by the fair to explore cooperation, expand partnerships, and contribute to global economic prosperity.
In his speech, Hao Peng described the Liaoning Trade Fair as a key measure to implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s directives for revitalizing Northeast China and enhancing openness. He noted that this year’s fair is branded as “China” for the first time, establishing it as a vital platform for promoting high-level openness. Hao highlighted the strong momentum behind the development of new quality productivity, which supports high-quality development. He announced various themed activities aimed at fostering international cooperation and mutual benefits, emphasizing Liaoning’s transformation through scientific and technological innovation.
Moreover, Li Lecheng highlighted Liaoning’s strengths as a major industrial and agricultural province, noting its robust industrial foundation, excellent infrastructure, and rich educational resources. He also characterized Liaoning as an ecological haven with picturesque landscapes, emphasizing the province’s commitment to implementing a three-year action plan for revitalization and its focus on new industrialization and innovation. He encouraged attendees to invest in Liaoning and deepen their connections with the province, stating that Liaoning is poised for comprehensive revitalization.
Japanese Ambassador to China Kenji Kanasugi also delivered a speech at the event. Key figures, including Sun Jingzhi, Chairman of CJ Group of South Korea, Dong Mingzhu, Chairman of Gree Electric Appliances Co., Ltd., and Cui Zhicheng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of China General Technology (Group) Holding Co., Ltd., spoke during the opening ceremony.
Additionally, a signing ceremony for key projects took place, followed by a tour of the theme exhibition for leaders and guests in attendance.
Members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, leaders from the Provincial People’s Congress, the Provincial Government, and the Provincial Political Consultative Conference, as well as heads from 14 cities and the Shenyang-Fushun Demonstration Zone, attended the opening ceremony, which was presided over by Zhang Lilin, a member of the Standing Committee and Vice Governor.
Over 700 attendees included leaders from national ministries and commissions, representatives from financial institutions, delegations from various provinces and regions, foreign ambassadors and political representatives from countries such as Pakistan, Poland, and Serbia, as well as guests from Fortune 500 companies, multinational corporations, and other domestic and foreign businesses.
