Sindh Minister invites Chinese investors to establish EV plant aiming towards green transportation.
A delegation of Chinese investors recently met with Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon at his office to explore investment opportunities in the province.
The primary focus of the meeting was on potential investments in the electric vehicle (EV) sector. Minister Memon extended an invitation to the delegation to establish an EV manufacturing plant in Sindh, emphasizing the province’s commitment to sustainable transportation solutions. The meeting was also attended by Secretary Transport Asad Zaman and Managing Director of Sindh Mass Transit Authority Kamal Dayo.
Addressing the Chinese investors, Memon assured them that the Sindh government is dedicated to providing essential incentives and fostering a business-friendly environment for foreign investors. He highlighted Sindh’s strategic significance, citing its well-developed ports, expanding road networks, and a large, skilled workforce as key advantages for investment.
Memon further emphasized that the future of transportation lies in electric vehicles, and Sindh is prepared to take a leading role in this transition. He encouraged international investors to set up EV manufacturing facilities in the province, underscoring that such initiatives would not only accelerate economic growth but also generate thousands of employment opportunities.
The Chinese delegation expressed keen interest in investing in Sindh’s EV sector and commended the provincial government’s efforts to promote industrial development. The discussions also touched upon potential collaborations in renewable energy, infrastructure projects, and technology transfer, further strengthening economic ties between the two regions.
