SIFC launches Green Corporate Initiative for agriculture sector fostering development.
The Green Corporate Initiative (GCI), launched by the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), is playing a crucial role in transforming Pakistan’s agriculture sector.
Through its recent efforts, the initiative has led to significant advancements in the country’s agricultural landscape.
By promoting a corporate-style farming model over conventional methods, GCI is fostering the sector’s overall development.
To boost agricultural output, 150,000 acres of farmland in Punjab have been modernized with advanced irrigation systems.
The initiative’s success is also attributed to the provision of high-quality fertilizers and seeds to farmers, resulting in higher crop yields.
As part of a broader green revolution, GCI, in collaboration with the Punjab government, has implemented effective measures for reforestation and environmental sustainability.
Agriculture remains a fundamental pillar of Pakistan’s economy, accounting for nearly 70% of the GDP.
