The conference, themed “New Frontiers: Mathematics for Transforming Science and Humanity,” honors the accomplishments of exceptional Chinese mathematicians and seeks to motivate young researchers to pursue innovation in their scientific endeavors.
The ICCM serves as a platform for both Chinese and international mathematicians to share breakthroughs and discuss future directions in pure and applied mathematics. This year’s conference, held from Jan. 3 to 6, includes nearly 200 lectures.
Shing-Tung Yau, the ICCM president and chairman of the Board of Governors of the Shanghai Institute for Mathematics and Interdisciplinary Sciences, emphasized the congress’s pivotal role in inspiring many scholars to achieve significant academic success.
