SCO-CHG meeting signs important documents to strengthen cooperation as well as improve efficiency of SCO’s permanent members.
During the SCO Heads of Government meeting, several important documents were signed, including the Joint Communique and agreements aimed at enhancing economic and trade cooperation, as well as improving the efficiency of the SCO’s permanent bodies.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced the transfer of the chairmanship of the Council of Heads of Government of the SCO to the Russian Federation, noting that the next meeting will be held in Russia next year.
The Prime Minister congratulated the Russian Federation on assuming the chairmanship and assured them of Pakistan’s full support during their tenure.
Shehbaz Sharif described the SCO meeting as a success, emphasizing the collective commitment to a better and more sustainable future for upcoming generations.
He reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong commitment to the shared goals of the SCO and stressed the importance of prioritizing collaboration over political divisions, while addressing common challenges to ensure the SCO continues to be a source of stability and development for its member nations.
Expressing concern over the ongoing genocide in Gaza, the Prime Minister highlighted that it cannot be ignored, urging the international community to act responsibly and push for an immediate, unconditional ceasefire, leading to the establishment of a Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders with Al-Quds as its capital.
The Prime Minister hosted a reception in honor of the SCO leaders and their delegations.
