Punjab to launch China inspired E-Taxi service as the task has been assigned to the relevant ministry.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has assigned Provincial Transport Minister Bilal Akbar Khan to launch an e-taxi service throughout the province, inspired by China’s taxi system.
The Punjab Transport Department is actively progressing on the project, having already engaged in discussions with various electric vehicle manufacturers to facilitate its implementation.
Leading companies, including Deewan Group and the National Radio & Telecommunication Corporation (NRTC), have shown interest in collaborating on this initiative.
The e-taxi service will operate round-the-clock in all major cities, with the initial rollout planned for Lahore and divisional headquarters.
