The presidium of the third session of the 14th National People’s Congress (NPC), China’s top legislative body, convened its third meeting on Monday.
Li Hongzhong presided over the meeting, having been entrusted by Zhao Leji, the executive chairman of the presidium.
During the meeting, it was decided to submit a draft amendment to the Law on Deputies to the National People’s Congress and Local People’s Congresses at Various Levels for a vote at the NPC session.
Additionally, three documents were approved for deliberation at the session, including draft resolutions on the work reports of the NPC Standing Committee, the Supreme People’s Court, and the Supreme People’s Procuratorate.
The meeting also reviewed and passed a report on handling proposals submitted by NPC deputies during the session.
Prior to the meeting, the presidium’s executive chairpersons gathered to finalize preparations for the documents.
