Chinese President Xi Jinping and Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov met in Beijing on Wednesday, reaffirming their commitment to advancing high-quality Belt and Road cooperation for mutual benefits.
President Xi expressed China’s willingness to deepen economic, trade, and investment ties with Kyrgyzstan, including increasing imports of high-quality Kyrgyz goods. He encouraged Chinese enterprises to invest in Kyrgyzstan while urging the country to safeguard the rights of Chinese investors.
Regarding connectivity, Xi emphasized the need for both nations to contribute to the high-standard construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, modernize existing ports, and expand passenger and freight flight operations to enhance the movement of goods and people.
Additionally, Xi highlighted the importance of fostering new areas of cooperation, particularly in cross-border e-commerce, big data, and artificial intelligence, to drive future economic growth.
President Japarov reaffirmed Kyrgyzstan’s commitment to working closely with China on Belt and Road initiatives, ensuring the success of the railway project, and strengthening collaboration in industry, investment, trade, transportation, e-commerce, and education.
