PM Shahbaz Sharif welcomes the Beijing Declaration reached between Fatah and Hamas in China.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif welcomed the Beijing Declaration on Tuesday, which represents an agreement among key Palestinian groups to unify and establish an interim unity government.
In a statement on his official X account, the prime minister commended the People’s Republic of China for achieving this significant diplomatic milestone.
He emphasized the prolonged suffering endured by the Palestinian people and expressed hope that Tuesday’s agreement would lead to lasting peace.
The prime minister called for global solidarity with the Palestinian people and urged Israel to halt its aggressive actions, which have devastated Gaza and resulted in approximately 40,000 Palestinian deaths over the past ten months.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, Sharif reiterated the call for a two-state solution, establishing an independent Palestinian state with pre-1967 borders and Al Quds as its capital.
Emphasizing the importance of unity among Palestinian factions, he highlighted the need for a unified and influential voice advocating for peace, justice, and statehood. “Pakistan stands alongside the Palestinian people in their pursuit of self-determination,” the prime minister declared.
