PM Shehbaz Sharif emphasizes Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace in a meeting with Kuwaiti ambassador.
Kuwait’s Ambassador, Nasser Abdulrahman Jasser, met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad on Friday.
During the discussion, Prime Minister Shehbaz extended his heartfelt greetings to Kuwait’s Amir, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. Emphasizing the enduring and close brotherly relations between Pakistan and Kuwait, Shehbaz Sharif noted the mutual support both countries have shown during challenging times.
He expressed strong anticipation for the upcoming visit of Kuwait’s Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, hoping it would take place soon.
The Prime Minister also briefed the Kuwaiti envoy on Pakistan’s viewpoint regarding recent developments in South Asia following the Pahalgam incident. He reiterated Pakistan’s consistent condemnation of terrorism, citing the country’s immense sacrifices—over 90,000 lives lost and economic damages exceeding $152 billion.
He firmly dismissed India’s unfounded allegations connecting Pakistan to the Pahalgam attack, criticizing the lack of any supporting evidence. He assured that Pakistan has nothing to hide and welcomes an independent, transparent, and impartial international investigation.
Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the government’s ongoing efforts to build upon the economic progress made over the last fifteen months, with the assistance of friendly nations. He stressed that Pakistan cannot allow any actions that might compromise regional stability and reiterated the country’s commitment to peace in South Asia.
Ambassador Jasser thanked the Prime Minister for providing clarity on Pakistan’s stance and affirmed that Kuwait aligns with Pakistan’s vision for promoting peace and security in the region.
