Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed pride over Pakistan’s recent appointments to prominent roles at the United Nations Security Council. The country has been named Chair of the Sanctions Committee, Vice Chair of the Counter-Terrorism Committee, and Co-Chair of the Informal Working Group on documentation and sanctions.
Sharing his thoughts on the social media platform X, the Prime Minister stated that these important roles reflect the international community’s confidence in Pakistan’s counterterrorism capabilities and serve as recognition of its steadfast commitment to eliminating terrorism.
He emphasized that Pakistan, being one of the nations most affected by terrorism, with over 90,000 lives lost and economic damages exceeding $150 billion, has made unparalleled sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.
