The 8th International Pakistan Army Team Spirit (PATS) Competition took place from April 14 to 18, 2025, at Kharian Garrison. Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, NI(M), attended the event as the chief guest at the closing ceremony.
This 60-hour intense patrolling challenge aimed to refine participants’ combat readiness by encouraging the exchange of innovative strategies and operational experiences among the teams.
Seven Pakistan Army teams, one team from the Pakistan Navy, and 15 teams from allied nations; including Bahrain, Belarus, China, Saudi Arabia, Maldives, Morocco, Nepal, Qatar, Sri Lanka, Türkiye, the U.S., and Uzbekistan—took part in the competition.
Additionally, military representatives from Bangladesh, Egypt, Germany, Kenya, Myanmar, and Thailand observed the event to understand its structure and objectives.
Set in the semi-mountainous landscape of Punjab, the exercise has steadily evolved into a prominent and highly competitive military event among partner nations.
In his address, the Army Chief praised the competing teams for their discipline, mental toughness, and teamwork displayed throughout the rigorous stages of the competition.
He emphasized the value of collaborative learning in such exercises and stated that PATS offers a perfect platform to demonstrate professional capabilities and tactical insight, essential to deal with the changing nature of modern warfare.
General Munir reaffirmed the Pakistan Army’s strong legacy of character, courage, and competence, as proven in the country’s battle against terrorism.
Concluding the event, the COAS distributed individual and team awards, while international observers and defence attachés from the participating countries lauded the professionalism and organization of the competition.
