KARACHI, Oct.8 – Pakistani COAS Emphasizes Security and Economic Prosperity at Karachi Meeting

Pakistani Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir recently received a comprehensive briefing on the security of Chinese nationals working on projects related to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), along with those involved in non-CPEC and private ventures. During this meeting, General Munir reiterated his commitment to combat illegal activities in Pakistan, emphasizing the collaborative efforts of law enforcement agencies and government departments in curbing unauthorized resource exploitation and economic losses.

A Commitment to Combat Illegal Activities:

General Munir’s remarks came during a recent gathering of the Provincial Apex Committee in Karachi, where he received updates on various critical matters. These included the Revised National Action Plan, ongoing operations in the Kacha Area of Sindh, and security measures for foreign nationals working on CPEC and non-CPEC projects.

The discussions at the meeting also encompassed topics such as the repatriation of illegal foreign residents, regulations for foreign currency transactions, progress reports on the Karachi Transformation Plan, advancements in projects under the Sindh Infrastructure Development Company (SIFC), and sustainability initiatives in Sindh.
