Pakistan wins ‘Best Pavilion’ at Global Sourcing Expo held at the Melbourne Convention Centre.

Under the visionary leadership of Federal Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan, Pakistan secured the prestigious “Best Pavilion” award at the Global Sourcing Expo, held from November 19 to 21, 2024, at the Melbourne Convention Centre. According to a press release issued on Thursday, this recognition underscores the minister’s strategic direction, which ensured Pakistan’s exceptional representation on an international platform.

The Global Sourcing Expo, the largest event in the Oceania region for textiles, leather, and home textile products, hosted exhibitors from prominent exporting countries such as China, India, Vietnam, Cambodia, and South Africa. Despite intense competition, Pakistan’s pavilion stood out for its innovative design, engaging presentations, and the superior quality of its products. This achievement reflects the forward-thinking leadership of Jam Kamal Khan.

The Federal Commerce Minister instructed Trade and Investment Officers (TIOs) to focus on creating world-class pavilions for international exhibitions, highlighting the importance of showcasing Pakistan’s diverse, high-quality exports. His proactive efforts have been instrumental in strengthening the country’s export competitiveness. The Pakistan pavilion, supported by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) and featuring 21 companies, concentrated on textiles, leather, and home textile products, which collectively contribute $190 million to Pakistan’s $300 million annual exports to Australia.

Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Australia, Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri, inaugurated the pavilion, engaged with exhibitors, and received the “Best Pavilion” award on behalf of TDAP during the event’s Welcome Reception. Moreover, Minister Jam Kamal Khan praised TDAP, the exhibitors, and the Pakistani diaspora in Australia for their collaborative efforts. Commenting on the award, he stated, “This accolade reflects Pakistan’s dedication to excellence and innovation in its export sectors. Our goal is to ensure that Pakistani products excel in highly competitive global markets.” This milestone strengthens Pakistan’s position in international trade and reinforces its commitment to expanding export quality and reach under the strategic leadership of figures like Jam Kamal Khan.
