Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Sunday to discuss various matters of bilateral and mutual interest.
Both leaders reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening economic, political, and cultural ties. They addressed a range of topics, including economic cooperation, regional stability, climate change, and promoting shared interests on the global stage.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif commended the UAE’s visionary leadership and its vital role as a development and investment partner for Pakistan. He emphasized Pakistan’s willingness to expand collaboration in renewable energy, technology, trade, infrastructure, and skill development.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed the UAE’s strong interest in partnering with Pakistan in mining, minerals, and agriculture. He praised Pakistan’s recent economic stabilization and its progress under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, highlighting opportunities for increased bilateral investment and cooperation.
The UAE president reaffirmed his country’s commitment to enhancing its enduring partnership with Pakistan, focusing on people-to-people connections and shared prosperity.
Prime Minister Sharif expressed gratitude to Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for the UAE’s consistent support, particularly in providing humanitarian assistance and development aid. Both leaders pledged to work closely on mutual interests, aiming for peace and progress in the region.
The meeting ended with a joint commitment to foster stronger cooperation, especially in priority sectors, to ensure a brighter future for both nations.
Deputy Prime Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant Syed Tariq Fatemi were also present at the meeting.
Later, Prime Minister Sharif shared on X, “Delighted to meet with my dear brother, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of UAE, today in Rahimyar Khan. Reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong commitment to further strengthen Pak-UAE cooperation and elevate our ties to a mutually beneficial strategic partnership. Matters of mutual interest including investments in Pakistan were discussed with a resolve to move forward together.”
