Pakistan and Russia advanced their industrial cooperation on Tuesday as Russian envoy Denis Nazaroof met with Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Haroon Akhtar Khan to discuss setting up new steel mills in the country. The discussion led to the decision to form a joint working group aimed at facilitating the development of a steel plant in Karachi.
Haroon Akhtar Khan reiterated the Prime Minister’s goal to attract increased foreign investment, stating that the current climate presents a valuable opportunity for global investors, with Pakistan now seen as a stable and promising destination for international business. He pointed out the mutual advantages a collaboration between Russia and Pakistan could offer.
Khan invited Russian investors to visit and assess potential investment areas in Pakistan. He emphasized that the meeting was a significant step toward deepening bilateral ties and exploring new joint ventures, particularly in the steel industry.
