ISLAMABAD — Pakistan marks China’s 75th anniversary with pledge to deepen cooperation during National Day Reception held in Islamabad.
Pakistan celebrated the 75th Anniversary of China with pledges of strengthened cooperation.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif attended the event and expressed heartfelt congratulations to the people and leadership of China during National Day Reception held in Islamabad.
In his address, President Zardari stressed commitment of both nations to work together for shared prosperity and global stability. Calling Pakistan, China as “all-weather friends,” President highlighted the invaluable contributions made by successive generations in transforming their friendship into a strategic partnership.
Zardari noted that, despite changing global circumstances, the bond between the two countries remains strong and reiterated Pakistan’s dedication to advancing the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reflected on the recent warmth he experienced during his visit to China. He termed ties between two nations as unbreakable and described it as “higher than the Himalayas and deeper than the deepest ocean.” Premier expressed gratitude for China’s support during challenging times, emphasizing that such assistance was essential for meeting IMF conditions.
Shairf assured Pakistan’s unwavering support for China’s positions on issues like Hong Kong and Taiwan, stating that this commitment will continue indefinitely. Additionally, Sharif announced that Pakistan is entering the second phase of CPEC, which is expected to significantly boost the nation’s economy and open doors for cooperation in various sectors, including agriculture and information technology.
Looking ahead, Prime Minister expressed excitement for the upcoming visit of the Chinese Premier to Pakistan, signaling a continued partnership focused on mutual interests and development.
