Pakistan empowers women in science, PM Shahbaz stated while emphasizing their key role in development.
Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed on Tuesday the country’s commitment to empowering women and girls in science, emphasizing their crucial role in driving progress and innovation in the future.
In his message on the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, Sharif stated that Pakistan considers female participation in science a national priority. He highlighted the government’s dedication to fostering an inclusive environment and ensuring equal opportunities for women in scientific fields.
Sharif acknowledged the significant impact of women in advancing scientific research, innovation, and leadership. He stressed that economic growth and societal well-being depend on both men and women contributing equally to scientific and technological advancements.
Emphasizing the importance of innovation for the country’s future, he noted that the government is actively promoting programs focused on skill development, support for women-led start-ups, and increased access to research funding.
The prime minister outlined various initiatives, including training in robotics, artificial intelligence, and digital technologies, along with scholarships and programs designed to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship among women.
