Pakistan Embassy in Beijing celebrates National Day of Pakistan as the event gathered senior dignitaries and Pakistan’s community.
The Pakistan Embassy in Beijing organized a national day reception on Thursday to commemorate the historic Pakistan Resolution passed on March 23, 1940, in Lahore.
The event witnessed a large gathering, including senior Chinese officials, diplomats, members of the Pakistani community, representatives from Chinese state-owned and private enterprises, academics, and prominent media figures.
Vice Foreign Minister of China, H.E. Sun Weidong, attended the event as the Chief Guest, while H.E. Sun Haiyan, Vice Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, was also present.
In his address, Pakistan’s Ambassador, H.E. Khalil Hashmi, paid tribute to the nation’s founding leaders, recognizing their vision and determination that led to the creation of Pakistan. He praised Pakistan’s resilience in overcoming challenges and highlighted the country’s improving economic indicators, emphasizing macroeconomic stability.
Ambassador Hashmi also acknowledged the role of the Pakistani community in strengthening China-Pakistan ties and stressed the importance of enhancing collaboration in business, science and technology, education, culture, and people-to-people exchanges.
Reflecting on the deep-rooted China-Pakistan relationship, he recalled their historical ties dating back to the ancient Silk Road. He underscored that their partnership is built on mutual trust, respect, and a shared commitment to regional peace and stability.
Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong reaffirmed China’s unwavering support for its “All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership” with Pakistan, emphasizing their strong and time-tested friendship. He described the two nations as good neighbors, friends, partners, and brothers.
The reception also featured a special cultural performance by Chinese and Pakistani children, showcasing the deep cultural ties and people-to-people connections between the two countries.
