The Pakistan Embassy in Beijing organized a flag-hoisting ceremony on Sunday to celebrate the 85th anniversary of Pakistan Day, honoring the historic 1940 Lahore Resolution. The event saw participation from embassy officials, their families, and members of the Pakistani community residing in China.
During the ceremony, Pakistani Ambassador to China Khalil Hashmi hoisted the national flag. Official messages from President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar were read, highlighting the contributions of Pakistan’s founding leaders and the nation’s role in promoting global peace, security, and stability.
In his address, Ambassador Hashmi described Pakistan-China relations as a benchmark for strategic partnership, built on mutual respect and strong cooperation. He highlighted key advancements in trade, infrastructure, technology, and cultural ties, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening collaboration, particularly through the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Speaking to the attendees, Ambassador Hashmi encouraged Pakistanis to use this National Day as a moment of reflection, urging unity and collective efforts to drive Pakistan’s development and prosperity.
The ceremony concluded with participants reaffirming their dedication to Pakistan’s progress and their commitment to fostering deeper ties with China.
