A high-level team from China Mobile Communications Corporation (CMCC), led by Chairman Yang Jie, visited Pakistan’s Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT) to explore deeper collaboration on digital infrastructure and connectivity projects under CPEC. The delegation held discussions with Federal Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja, focusing on strengthening digital ties in line with Pakistan’s Digital Vision.
Key areas of focus included the development of energy-efficient, AI-powered data centres, advancing 5G rollout, and boosting bilateral digital connectivity through the CPEC framework.
The meeting also explored partnerships with leading Chinese digital platforms for content hosting, alongside expanding AI education initiatives in Pakistan.
This cooperation is expected to enhance regional integration by leveraging digital infrastructure to support trade, innovation, and cross-border connectivity.
